VEIN (PZ) – Torna a Venosa, from 18 dicembre 2022 al 5 January 2023, the Festival of the Five Continents, la rassegna di spettacoli e arte ideata dall’associazione culturale “Il Circo dell’Arte” e organizzata in collaborazione con il Comune di Venosa. La diciassettesima edizione della manifestazione, that from 2016 rientra tra gli eventi riconosciuti come parte del patrimonio culturale intangibile della Regione Basilicata, is presented this year in a special Christmas version. A program of seven appointments, which throughout the holiday season will bring a series of contemporary circus shows and music dedicated to families to the city of Horace.

To inaugurate the "Xmas Edition" of the Festival of the Five Continents, Sunday 18 dicembre, it will be a poetic-sensorial parade inspired by the beauty of flowers. Starting from 18.30, the company Buffoons' barrack will parade through the streets of the historic center with the show "Fleur", giving life to a performance of great emotional impact. An enchanting builder, with his magical watering can, become a gardener. It comes accompanied by giant flowers, bringing with it music and perfumes. Sowing, the bloom and floral arrangement become the motif that unleashes the characters in a series of choreographies and interactions with the audience. At the end of the parade, the public will be able to move inside the Church of San Filippo Neri, in Castle square, dove alle 20 the musical show "Struffoli in A♭" by Theater Caccabak, with two great voices who will propose classic Neapolitan songs and a section dedicated to Neapolitan Christmas carols.

Second date Friday 23 dicembre, all 18.30, in the Church of Santa Maria della Scala. Space for the puppet theater with the show for all ages “Put your heart into it!"Of Nina Theatre, winner of the "best manipulation" award at EuroPuppet Valsesia 2022. In a suitcase, the protagonist finds objects – dolls, clothes, books, toys – and transforms them, giving it life, into funny and poetic characters.

Music will be the protagonist Monday 26 dicembre, thanks to the gospel choir concert Feel The Joy Gospel Choir. The group will offer Christmas songs arranged in a soul key, along with a repertoire of contemporary gospel music and spirituals, as well as jazz and blues tunes. The concert will take place in the Co-Cathedral of Sant'Andrea from 19.

The mime and clown Mr Mustache will be at the center of the show “The best disasters”, and programma Tuesday 27 dicembre all 18.30 in the San Domenico Auditorium. An awkward and clumsy character will be put to the test by misadventures, accidents and daring gags. But he will not give up and between one bizarre solution and another he will be able to move forward. A comedy show, unbalanced and deliberately disastrous with which Mister Mustache reveals a human side that most unites all human beings: the imperfection.

“BanDita” by silviombre it is the Chinese shadow show that will be staged Thursday 29 dicembre all 18.30, in the Church of Santa Maria della Scala. A band of ten fingers dances in the light, a game of hands that become animals and characters. Shadow meets light, image meets music. A real pleasure for the eyes and ears.

A clowning and cabaret show will be proposed Tuesday 3 January all 18.30, in the location of the Auditorium of San Domenico, and Otto Panzer with his “One Man Show”. Pyrotechnic in his approach to the public, Otto is a very nice clown, dressed as the director of an unlikely and mysterious circus, which presents acts of genuine bizarre involving the public in its crazy scenic adventures.

The XVII edition of the Festival of the Five Continents will close Thursday 5 January with an evening dedicated to the observation of the sky and the stars in anticipation of the Epiphany. “The night of the stars… waiting for the Epiphany” will take place on the Loggiato del Castello “Pirro del Balzo” starting from 17.30. All the events of the review are free.
