Announced the winners of the Five Continents

VEIN (PZ) - It is closed Sunday 30 Venosa November to the first edition of the Five Continents, the multidisciplinary competition launched as part of the Festival of the Five Continents to promote the diversity of expression and cultural. At the Auditorium San Domenico Church took place the screening of four short films in competition and the award ceremony of the winners in the various categories of the award. The evening was presented by actor and comedian Roman Stefano Vigilante was attended by directors, actors, artists and pianist Rocco were lying, who performed live some songs in his latest cd "Textures".

The four short films finalists, emerged from the selections took place between August and November, were: "I just had a dream" (Spain), "Margaret" (Italy), "Mouths" (Spain), "Short history of the sea" (Italy). Screened out of competition the short documentary "From the Sea" by Emanuele Faccilongo and Piero Russo, who was presented with a special award for pointing out the special relationship between Sherman and the territory of the Gargano "with respectful look and without betraying the spirit ironic and poetic character".

Among the prizes awarded, a special mention in the section devoted to short fiction went to the writer Emilio D'Andrea "for his contribution to the efforts to promote and enhance the area". For the section dedicated to painting, other mention for the artist Annamaria D'Andrea, that with the work "Ludica belonging" has joined "the technical knowledge to a symbolism that draws civic heraldry and echoes a message of preservation of the roots of a territory". The first prize was instead awarded to the work "Fathima" the Neapolitan painter Brunella D'Auria, "For the spirit of complaint that animates the painting and the expressive power that leads us to reflect on a current hot topic as the violence perpetrated against women in many areas of the world".

In the short film section of the jury wanted to award a special prize for best actor at Teodosio Barresi, star of "Little History of the Sea" by Dario Di Viesto, "For having been able to tell, with poignant intensity of interpretation, love for the sea and the value of life, through the eyes of gleaming old fisherman ". Special mention to "take Acabo de un sueño" Javier Navarro Montero "for the ability to use the expedient dream to tell a story from two different points of view".

The most anticipated award of the evening, one for Best Short, delivered by the festival's artistic director Pasquale Cappiello, went to the film "Margaret" by director Alexander the Great, "For the delicacy with which is treated, through a story unexpected outcome, the theme of confrontation and coexistence of different cultures, pointing the way of art as a possible means to bring people together ".
